General Description:

High Hopes is seeking a Janitor/Custodian who will be responsible for cleaning and providing upkeep for all buildings, stocking and maintaining cleaning supplies, operating cleaning equipment, and denoting basic repairs and troubled areas. This person must have excellent time management skills, knowledge of basic cleaning supplies and equipment (mops, vacuums, shampooers, and floor buffers), and the ability to lift and carry at least 40 pounds.

Essential Job Functions:

• General cleaning of buildings and keeping maintained floors, walls, and restrooms

• Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors

• Clean Common Areas: hallways and breakroom floors and walls

• Clean Restrooms: disinfect toilets and sinks and replenish supplies, such as toilet paper, soap, and paper towels (adult and children’s restrooms)

• Clean up spills with appropriate equipment

• Mix liquids and solvents to create effective cleaning solutions

• Collect and dispose of trash in restrooms, breakrooms, and offices

• Keep janitor closets stocked and cleaned

• Notify supervisor of repairs needing attention

• Perform and document all designated janitorial activities

• Complete tasks in a timely manner and on schedule

• Flexible to work some nights and/or weekends, as needed

• Other duties as assigned

 

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
