High Hopes @ The Nashville Sounds
On April 29th, Music City’s own minor league baseball team the Nashville Sounds will face the New Orleans Baby Cakes in their 12th home game of the season, and High Hopes will be the Charity of the Game!
During last year’s 2017 season, the Charity of the Game promotion hosted 30 local nonprofits at various home games, and now High Hopes will take its turn. The game begins at 1:05 PM on a Sunday afternoon, and it promises to be a fun and entertaining afternoon for all!
Who Are the Nashville Sounds?
Nashville has been involved in baseball since the 19th century, but the Nashville Sounds were established here almost by sheer force of will in 1978. The Nashville Sounds are a Triple-A baseball team, meaning they participate in the highest level of minor league baseball.
They are currently affiliated with the Oakland Athletics club in the MLB, and they have been affiliated with the Milwaukee Brewers, the Pittsburgh Pirates, and the Cincinatti Reds among other MLB teams in the past. The Sounds compete in the Pacific Coast League, in the American Southern Division, where their biggest rivals are the Memphis Redbirds.
As a baseball team, the Nashville Sounds have made 14 postseason appearances, winning 10 division titles, two conference titles, and three league championships. The most recent league championship title was achieved in 2005.
