Preschoolers offer a bright, exciting livelihood to the classroom. At this age, preschoolers are developing independence. This independence occurs with opportunity and practice. Preschoolers tend to be ego-centric, but developmentally, are open to learning about others (compassion) and how they impact other people and things (empathy) and how other people affect them.
